The coronavirus can travel through the air at least 13 feet — more than twice as far as social distancing guidelines, according to a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The study also found that SARS-CoV-2 was widely distributed in the air and on object surfaces in both the ICU and General COVID-19 Ward (GW), implying a potentially high infection risk for medical staff and other close contacts. However, the study found the environmental contamination was greater in the ICU than the GW.
